Recognition Program Recognizes the Diamond Within

The 2012 volleyball season opens with a new facet to the program – weekly recognition of excellence in volleyball at Desert Mountain High School (DMHS). Varsity players who demonstrate they’re “a cut above” in team leadership, positive attitude, focus, effort and commitment – as determined by consensus opinion among all Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity Coaches – will be named Varsity Player of the Week.

Each week, coaches will observe all Varsity players during practices and games to determine the next week’s award recipient and present the award the following Monday to a deserving Varsity player.

As “a cut above,” award recipients will receive a certificate and glass diamond from Varsity Head Coach Shannon Bullock. The glass diamond has special meaning for all volleyball team members because it symbolizes the beauty, strength, fire and many facets of each player that makes them unique and highly valued members of their teams.
